The ridged inside does most of the work while you press and rotate the two halves. It feels more controlled than smashing garlic on a board.

This has become my quick option when a recipe only needs a little garlic. I don't have to get out a cutting board and knife, and the cloves stay contained while I twist. It is basic, but it saves enough time that I keep using it.

not bad, especially if you hate mincing with a knife.

I like being able to see the garlic while I'm working because I can stop when the texture looks right. The clear body is a simple feature but actually pretty useful.

The first time I used this I probably put too much garlic inside, so it took more effort than expected. With a smaller amount, the twisting action worked much better and gave me nicely crushed pieces. Now I just do a few cloves at a time and it feels much easier.
